eTALK and Starbucks Canada shine the spotlight on Little Voice and their efforts to give back to their community!
The #GiveBack Campaign invited people across Canada to share their stories on how they give back to their community!
Little Voice’s author Amanda Bernardo shared her story and fundraising efforts behind the Little Voice Forget Me Not Project, a project which donates a portion of each book sale to the Alzheimer Society of Canada while engaging in specific local fundraising events to support the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County!
“I remember Samantha sharing the contest with me and insisting I share our story. I am really glad I listened to her! ” – Amanda Bernardo
On Tuesday morning, Amanda received the great news that her story was selected as a winner! The prize …
A donation of $1000 on behalf of Starbucks to a charity of her choice!
“When I got the email, I was speechless! I knew right away I wanted this money to be donated to our local fundraising efforts here in Ottawa. The Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County were thrilled to hear the good news. They have been so supportive of our journey and we hope to continue to assist their fundraising efforts!”
Little Voice would like to send a special thank you to eTALK and Starbucks Canada for this amazing opportunity!
“It is gestures like these that bring people together, that reinforce the idea of community and being a good neighbour! We are truly inspired by this amazing donation! We hope, like Starbucks Canada, we can one day become a great catalyst for change and in turn give back on a greater scale just as they have done and continue to do!”
In keeping with their fundraising efforts, Amanda has requested that this donation be made in honour of her grandmother Teresina Bernardo who is currently battling this disease.
